How Many Worksheets Per Day? A Parent's Guide (Nursery–Class 3)

More is not always better. Short, regular practice beats long, tiring sessions, especially for young children.

Nursery (ages 3–4)

One to two pages, 10 minutes. Focus on tracing, colouring and play.

LKG and UKG (ages 4–6)

Two to three pages, 15 minutes, mixing one writing page with one fun puzzle or colouring page.

Class 1–3 (ages 6–10)

Three to four pages, 20–30 minutes, with a break halfway. Alternate subjects to keep interest high.

Golden rules

  • Stop while your child still wants a little more.
  • Praise effort and progress.
  • Use a sticker chart for consistency.
  • Print on plain A4 and reuse practice pages in a plastic sleeve with a dry-erase marker.
